The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the toughest privacy and security law in the world. At FreeVPSTrial.net, we treat the GDPR not just as a legal requirement, but as a baseline for our global privacy standards.
1. Your Role and Ours
It is important to understand the distinction between our roles:
- Data Controller: FreeVPSTrial.net acts as the Data Controller for your account information (name, email, billing details).
- Data Processor: For the data you store inside your VPS, you are the Controller, and we are the Processor. We do not access this data except for technical storage and retrieval.
2. Data Residency
We offer users the ability to pin their data to specific geographic locations. If you select our Frankfurt (Germany) region, your data (including backups) will not leave the European Economic Area (EEA) without your explicit configuration.
3. Sub-Processors
To provide our services, we partner with select infrastructure providers. All partners are vetted for GDPR compliance.
| Sub-Processor | Service Provided | Location |
|---|---|---|
| DigitalOcean / AWS | Bare Metal Infrastructure | USA / EU |
| Stripe | Payment Processing | USA (SCCs in place) |
| Twilio | SMS Verification | USA |
| Zendesk | Customer Support Tickets | USA |
4. Data Processing Agreement (DPA)
For business customers requiring a signed DPA, we provide a standard agreement covering the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). You may request a countersigned DPA by emailing [email protected].
5. Right to Erasure ("To Be Forgotten")
You may delete your account at any time via the user dashboard. Upon deletion:
- VPS Instance: Terminated immediately. Disk data is securely wiped (zero-filled).
- Backups: Removed from rotation within 7 days.
- Account Metadata: Anonymized after 12 months (retained temporarily for fraud prevention).
6. Data Portability
You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format. You can export your profile data and billing history directly from the "Settings" tab in your control panel as a JSON or CSV file.
7. Contact the DPO
If you have specific concerns regarding European data law, please contact our Data Protection Officer:
